How do you stand out from the crowd? 👑

My favorite movie as a kid was A Goofy Movie.

Since its release in 1995, it’s become somewhat of a cult classic (if you can call any Disney movie that) but the whole reason I love it is because of the Prince-inspired character known as Powerline.

Powerline sings a song called Stand Out and the lyrics go like this:

🎵 It ain't a question of how, just a matter of when. You get the message that I'm tryin' to send.

Not to spoil the movie for you (it has been over 20 years though) but in the end Max and Goofy somehow make it on stage with Powerline. They don’t know his choreography so they use their fishing rod casting technique as a dance. Powerline loves it, copies it and the crowd goes wild.

Stand out they did. And stand out we must.

And by the way, when I say competition, I don’t just mean other people who do the same work as you. I mean any alternatives to hiring you. Netflix’s competition these days includes TikTok. Even though they are quite different platforms, it’s the same eyeballs they’re after.
